Fishbourne Road East is a fully managed student accommodation unit for the University of Chichester comprising two buildings of 3-4 storeys with 134 student bed spaces. In a highly sustainable location, the development is car free, a term of the student tenancy agreement, with the exception of six spaces for disabled students, staff, visitors and servicing.

Although the site had been vacant for many years, there were no site-specific restraints and it benefitted from a consent for a 12,000sqft non-food retail unit of approximately 9.9m in height which had been safeguarded as a result of the implementation of a petrol filling station on adjacent land.  This, together with a policy preference for a student accommodation use, led to permission being granted.

The student population of Chichester has grown significantly over recent years and the provision of this student accommodation has freed up existing properties in the private rented sector releasing them back into the market for much needed family housing.
